Latest NEWS:

Over the past several weeks, we have been uniquely blessed with an outpouring of love for the residents and families of the Blackmon Road Community. During the end of October and into mid November, a group of young people and their wonderful adult mentors from Walnut Grove Christian School in Charlotte NC, have added a critically important addition to Hope Whitlock's Family Homestead...Yes, folks...we're talking running water, and a new septic system for Hope's house on Archer Drive, as well as a major upfit and makeover for Hope's House !! This includes new appliances, upgraded electrical services, a bathroom addition, a completely renovated kitchen/dining area, a new wood-burning stove (thanks to our good friend, Tim Turner from Chimney Rock, NC) new flooring and carpet in the major living areas of the house...and the addition of two more bedrooms that have been cleared out and are ready for a major overhaul. This has been an incredible feat, given the gravity of pulling all the resources needed together, and making this happen. The organizers of this project would like to just make every opportunity for upgrading the quality of life for Hope and her family brought to fruition. We are watching this unfold before our stunned eyes...

We will upload pictures and more info...including ways you, too, can help ...incredible, just wonderful...

Mother Hope Whitlock and good friend, Donna Berry...

Below and Right are pictures of Friends, Neighbors and all manner of kid-help!...to get a septic system installed, and the house Hope and her family live in, repaired and readied for Winter.

Thanks to ALL who 'kicked in' and made it a wonderfully 'coming together', community effort.

Accordingly...While we celebrate the many strides made for the residents...and for this community at large, we are still deeply in the pursuit of making Phase Two of the Infrastructure Development (Water/Sewer lines that reach into the whole community) and Phase Three: Affordable Housing, the major goals that are still at the forefront of this mission.

Below are some of the recent grants, donations and in kind services that have been awarded our community...We are immensely grateful to all of our sponsors, donors and community support activities that have made this mission a beacon of hope and charity for all. There is also a listing of the measurable, positive advances made in the communities quest for learning, soft-skill development and life enrichment activities...Please take a moment and share these successes with us...
