Nate Quick, with Charlotte radio station WPEG-FM, plays Santa as
he greets children in the Blackmon Road community Friday. Donna
McLaughlin of Tega Cay asked her company, ESP Associates of
Pineville, N.C., to help collect gifts and food for the children of
the impoverished community that's less than two miles from downtown
Rock Hill. With the help of the Rev. Danny Walker, who ministers to
Blackmon Road residents, ESP Associates identified 50 children to
receive Christmas gifts, toys and clothes. Before receiving gifts,
the children and adults were all treated to lunch. At right,
Brittany Gullatt, 9, walks away with a bag of Christmas gifts she
received Friday.
